A good homemade pizza dough recipe is a good recipe to have in your recipe rotation. My recipe is very simple and contains just 7 ingredients. Use any beer you have on hand to level up your pizza night.
Ingredients
-
1 can of beer, warmed in hot water for 10 minutes
-
1 tablespoon quick rise yeast
-
1 tablespoon sugar
-
1 heaping teaspoon salt
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
4 ½ cups all purpose flour
Directions
Bread maker Method:
Pour the warm beer into the bread maker container.
Add sugar, then oil, then salt, and then flour to the bread maker. Sprinkle the yeast into the corners of the container.
Set the bread maker to the dough function and start it up.
The bread maker will take care of the kneading and the dough rise, so it will be ready to go when the setting is complete.
Hand Made Method:
In a large bowl, add the warm beer. Pour in yeast and stir until it is dissolved.
Stir in sugar, salt, and oil. Add 3 cups of flour and mix with your hands to form a rough ball.
Add the remaining 1 ½ cups of flour to the dough and knead until well combined. Form dough into a smooth ball.
Oil a medium bowl and place the dough into it. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a tea towel. Allow dough to rise in a warm environment for about an hour and then it’s ready for your favourite toppings.
KitchenAid Mixer Method:
Add the warm beer to the mixing bowl and attach the dough hook.
Add yeast to the bowl and stir to dissolve.
Pour sugar, oil, salt and flour into the mixing bowl. Turn on the mixer to combine the dough until the dough comes together.
Take dough out of the mixing bowl and knead for about 5 minutes, until dough is smooth.
Add dough to an oiled bowl and cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a tea towel.
Allow dough to rise for about an hour in a warm environment before making your pizzas.
Baking Your Pizza:
Roll or stretch dough onto a *prepared pizza pan, pizza peel, or a pizza stone. Add desired toppings to the dough.
Bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes, until crust is golden brown.
Enjoy 🖤
Recipe Note
*You can also proof your dough in the oven by placing the dough into an oiled metal mixing bowl. Set your oven to the proof function and allow it to rise.
* Prepare your pizza pan, steel, or stone with a bit of oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking while it bakes.
