I love finishing off the ribs, I prepare, in a hot oven or even the barbecue. This helps to caramelize the barbecue sauce and increase the flavour of the ribs.
Ingredients
-
2 slabs pork back ribs
-
½ cup brown sugar
-
1 cup Coke or beef broth
-
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
-
1 bottle of barbecue sauce
-
2 tablespoons soy sauce (optional)
-
¼ - ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Directions
Peel the membrane off the back of each slab. Rub both sides of the ribs with brown sugar and seasoning salt.
Place the rack insert into the Instant Pot. Place ribs, on their side, into the Instant Pot.
Pour Coke or broth into the pot, making sure to avoid submersing the ribs in the liquid.
Turn Instant Pot onto the Meat function and cook the ribs for 40 minutes. Ensure that the pressure valve stays closed while cooking.
Remove the ribs from the pot, when the setting is completed, and place into a baking dish. Coat the ribs with your choice of barbecue sauce.
To complete the ribs, you can barbecue or roast the ribs in a 450°F oven for 10-15 minutes.
Enjoy 🖤
