I used my Grandma’s Spaghetti sauce recipe to make the meat sauce for this lasagna. It makes this recipe even more special.
Ingredients
-
1 box oven ready lasagna noodles
-
1 block frozen spinach
-
1 egg
-
280 grams or a heaping cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Prepare your meat sauce, following the steps for Grandma’s Spaghetti.
Using a medium bowl, prepare filling by mixing together ricotta cheese, 1 block of frozen spinach, thawed, 1 egg, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
Shred your choice of hard cheese (I like to use marble or mozzarella).
Line a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with parchment paper. Spoon enough meat sauce to cover the bottom of the dish. Place a layer of noodles over the meat sauce.
Add another layer of meat sauce over the noodles and then sprinkle with some shredded cheese. Top with another layer of lasagna noodles.
Add the spinach & ricotta layer over the noodles then top with another layer of noodles.
Complete the lasagna by spreading the remaining meat sauce over the noodles and then sprinkling the remaining shredded cheese.
Cover the lasagna with foil wrap place into the oven to bake for 45 minutes. Then remove foil and broil for 3 to 4 minutes, until cheese is golden brown.
Enjoy 🖤
